Without guidance, this journey can prove overwhelming. The STEM discipline can be mentally taxing, our goal is to provide a supportive community to our members where they can be uplifted and guided through their journey while at Stan State.

Our organization will prepare members as they begin their journey as recent STEM graduates, whether it is life within or outside of academics. We will hold monthly professional development workshops for our members including, but not limited to: CV-development, internship applications, grant writing, and tech literacy. CV-development sessions will help members build a professional resume that highlights member achievements and showcases their talents to future employers. We will also help with website portfolios on sites like GitHub, Plateau, and LinkedIn, to boost our members' online presence to be seen by job recruiters, while increasing their technological literacy. Internship workshops will help with the transition from “student life” and help prepare members for leadership roles in their future careers. We hope to provide internship opportunities that are outside of what is typically seen here in the Central Valley, so more areas around the country can benefit from the hard working and driven individuals coming out of Stanislaus State. We will also provide scholarship and grant writing workshops in order to develop the skills necessary to obtain funding for their research and to show potential employers that they can obtain the needed capital to complete projects.

We believe that studying and enjoying literature and practicing and honing writing skills leads to a happy and fulfilled life; that reading and writing excite human curiosity and nourish the imagination; and that extending what we’ve learned in the literature and writing classroom in a relaxed and open atmosphere can lead to constructive thinking, positive activity, and the eventual formation of a more just and equitable world. Bookworms and Wordsmiths also exists to promote and strengthen the institutional programs from which it branches: the undergraduate and graduate programs in the English Department. Note that while sustaining English and supporting its goals, Bookworms and Wordsmiths is its own group with broader concerns. Membership in the Bookworms and Wordsmiths is open to any and all who are enrolled as students on our campus, not only English majors, and we welcome both graduates and undergraduates. We will implicate ourselves in all literary goings-on at Stanislaus State; from leading the way during banned books week to overseeing a fall pumpkin-carving and scary-story festival, look to see our members actively engaged in campus gatherings and communal poetry readings, literary events, and symposia.

The Warriors Chemistry Club is an ACS student chapter. Our primary focus of the club is to engage with others interested in the field of Chemistry. The club partakes in various activities throughout the school year.
