During the month of April, the National Child Abuse Prevention is recognized on the 4th Friday of April to spread awareness to prevent child maltreatment. The Lisa Project, founded in 2010 by Gene Hardin, presents a groundbreaking initiative aimed at shedding light on the harsh reality of child abuse. This unique multi-sensory exhibit transcends traditional awareness efforts, allowing visitors to not only hear and see but also profoundly experience the world that children facing abuse navigate daily. Guided by poignant audio narrations from a child’s perspective, visitors traverse room by room, confronting scenarios that depict the stark challenges of child abuse. The immersive nature of the experience ensures that each guest gains a visceral understanding of the hardships these children endure.

This experience will not only be valuable for us as social workers but also for others on campus and in the community, as it will raise awareness about child abuse.

We cannot wait for you all to experience The Lisa Project!
