Installations in Village 1
You may notice maintenance occurring around Village 1 over the next few weeks as we install hard wire internet connections to improve WiFi in that area.
Wall cut outs and cabling has been installed in the following units as of this morning:
Units ending in -10, -12, and -13.
Data ports in those units have not been activated yet; this will take place at a later date.
The ZamCom team is currently working through units ending in -11 and then next week will proceed with -09, -08 and so on. It can take anywhere from 2-4 days, sometimes more, to complete the hard wire cable process in one column (i.e. 110, 210, and 310).
Bathroom Courtesy Clean
Courtesy clean will begin next week. A notice will be posted on your door two days prior to your scheduled cleaning date to alert you and your roommates. A member of the Custodial team will conduct the clean between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on your scheduled date. You do not need to be home for your cleaning to occur.
What is a Preventative Maintenance Courtesy Clean?
The Housing Custodial Team will enter the unit and clean the bathroom counters, sinks, toilet, shower and floor. This is preventative maintenance that helps preserve the life of the bathroom surfaces. This also allows for our custodial team to check for any potential water leaking issues. This cleaning takes about 20 minutes to complete.
Please clear all items off the bathroom counter, shower, and floor the night before the clean is scheduled. Failure to do so may result in your unit being skipped.
If you have any questions, please call the Housing Office at 209-667-3675.
Package Notifications
Residents will receive an email alert once their package has arrived at the Housing Office and is ready to be picked up.
Please note that all packages are first delivered to the Shipping & Receiving department on campus before being transported to the Housing Office. We will let you know once your package is here and ready to be picked up.
In a time crunch for an Amazon package? Rite Aid across the street from campus has an Amazon locker location!
The Laundry Room Upgrade is Complete!
Download Speed Queen Laundry Alert
First and foremost, please disregard the sticker that says "Pay with Your Phone" and "Load Money." It is still completely free to wash and dry your items!
Download Speed Queen app for Android or iPhone. You will need to create an account the first time you use the app.
Once in the app, select "Add Location" and add the Location Code (it's the same for all laundry rooms in the Village and posted in every room): W10045
Select the room you'd like to view and confirm.
Track all washers and dryers in that location, or select the machine you'd like to use.
Once you've selected the machine you want to use, load your laundry and press Start.
And that's it! Make sure to enable app notifications to get an alert 3 minutes prior to your cycle being done.
If you have any questions about the new machines or the alert system, please contact the Housing Office.

Are You Getting Enough Sleep?
Hey Warriors! HEP here with another message on how to improve your overall health. This edition we’re focusing on sleep – why it’s important and how much we should be aiming for.
If you’ve pulled and all-nighter, you can probably attest to the negative effects – decreased thinking and brain function, increased irritability and mood instability, and making poor decisions just to name a few. In fact, multiple studies have found that pulling an all-nighter causes impairment that is similar to being drunk. Sleep is important because it powers the mind, restores the body, and fortifies pretty-much every system in the body.
In general, the National Sleep Foundation guidelines advise young adults ages 18-25 to aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night. In deciding on how much sleep you need, you should consider your overall health, daily activities and typical sleep patterns. In some cases, sleeping more or less that the general range may be acceptable based on your circumstances.
