Our Core Values and Priorities

Academics

Academic excellence isn’t just encouraged, it’s expected and actively supported throughout a brother's college journey.

Our primary goal on campus is to improve retention and graduation rates, especially among Latino and underrepresented students. Latinos are among the fastest-growing populations in U.S. colleges, yet they remain underrepresented in four-year degree completion.

By fostering a culture where academic achievement is celebrated, they help brothers remain focused and persist through the challenges of higher education, playing a vital role in challenging educational inequality and empowering underrepresented communities to thrive in college and beyond.

Brotherhood

Brotherhood isn’t just about social connection, it’s a source of motivation, accountability, and long-term success. The fraternity fosters a deep sense of unity among its members, creating a strong foundation of support that begins on campus and continues well into professional life through its powerful alumni network.

We are proud to say, NAK has cultivated a tight-knit alumni community that remains actively involved in mentoring undergraduates. Many alumni return to campus for events, offer career guidance, and provide internships, job leads, and grad school prep advice. Serving as mentors, helping younger brothers navigate college life, choose majors, build resumes, and enter professional fields. This network is especially valuable for students from underrepresented backgrounds who may not otherwise have access to these resources.

Culture & Community

At the heart of Nu Alpha Kappa’s mission is a deep commitment to both cultural pride and community service. As a Latino-founded fraternity, the Delta Chapter at Cal State Stanislaus works to uplift marginalized voices, celebrate cultural identity, and give back to the communities that have shaped them.

One of the chapter’s signature events is NAKland, a free carnival held for children and families in the Turlock area. It brings together the campus and local community to provide fun, safe, and educational activities, a reflection of the chapter’s dedication to service and outreach for the underrepresented community in Turlock.

Each November, Stan State hosts a campus-wide awareness campaign—Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week—to highlight the challenges related to food and housing insecurity among students and the local community. Donations are used to feed individuals through local partners like Turlock's We Care program, while leftover donations are distributed via campus and community channels.

28 Chapters across three states.
