You are warmly invited to participate in our Campus Posadas on Thursday, December 5th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
What are Posadas?
Posadas, or “lodging,” is a cherished Latine cultural tradition that celebrates the Christmas story through song and community gathering. Participants will visit different “homes” to collect offerings and information, culminating in a final gathering for food, drinks, and socializing. This event is part of our UndocuJoy initiative, which aims to uplift and support our undocumented students while celebrating their rich cultural heritage.
We recognize that not everyone celebrates Christmas, and we want to create an inclusive environment for all. This event is a celebration of community, culture, and togetherness, regardless of individual beliefs or traditions. Everyone is welcome to join in the festivities!
Event Details:
Start Location: Student Center 206 at 10:00 AM
Schedule:
Move from department to department, visiting “homes” and gathering offerings.
The journey concludes at the Warriors Cross Culture Center, Vasché Library, L201, where we will enjoy tamales, champurrado, and Piñata Decorating from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Don’t miss the Piñata breaking activity in the main quad from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM!
