In alignment with the Stanislaus State's commitment to welcome our diverse population, our work group is committed to recognizing and celebrating Stanislaus State's population of 1st generation students. This celebration is in collaboration with the National First-Generation College Celebration held annually on November 8. The whole campus community is invited to this free event, and is organized by Housing and Residential Life, Career and Professional Development Center, TRiO Student Support Services, EOP (Educational Opportunity Program), the University Library, the Academic Success Center, and First-Gen Fridays.

Success as a First-Gen Professional

The transition from student to professional can be difficult if you don’t already have a support network. Join us to learn about potential barriers and strategies to address concerns as you transition from college to career. Learn about barriers identified for First Gen Professionals and connect with other first gen students. This workshop is hosted during National 1st Gen Student Celebration week.

This event will be available via Zoom as well as in person at the Stockton campus.

Join the First-Gen Committee on Election Day, November 5th, from 10 AM to 1 PM in the University Quad to celebrate your right to vote! We're here to answer any questions first-time voters may have. The first 20 students will receive a special First-Gen Voter t-shirt, and we’ll also have stickers and buttons to show your first-gen pride. Let’s make your voice heard this election day!

Have you picked your classes for spring semester yet? Join us for Reg and Play on November 4th from 1-3pm in Library, L 201! You will have a chance to ask your questions about your classes with an Academic Advisor, from the Advising and Success Center, and get a chance to hang out with the Male Success Initiative Peer Mentors!

The event theme is about giving thanks those who have sacrificed and uplifted students' pursuits of education and brighter futures. Supplies are provided, but space is limited.
