Courtesy Cleans Coming in October

Resident units receive one courtesy clean per semester. The Housing Custodial Team will enter the unit and clean the bathroom counters, sinks, toilet, shower, and floor. It takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

About 48 hours prior to your unit’s scheduled courtesy clean, you’ll receive a notice on your door with the scheduled time and date.

You don’t need to be present for this to occur, however you DO need to do a few things in order for your area to be cleaned:

• Clear all items off the bathroom counter (we recommend temporarily moving them into cubbies or cabinets)
• Clear items off the shower floor and shower shelf
• Clear items off the bathroom floor (including rugs)

Failure to do so may result in your unit not being cleaned.

Warrior Expo: Showrooms Wanted!

Warrior Expo is an event for prospective students and their families to visit Stan State and get a taste of campus life. As part of the event, we offer a Housing Open House where we show off all room types, and we want to include residents and their units!

Date: Saturday, October 21st
Time Commitment: 9:30AM - 2PM

We are looking for one of each of the following room types:

• Triple Suite
• Double Deluxe (Village 2)
• Single Apartment (Village 1)
• Single Apartment (Village 3)

Participation Requirements:

• In order to be selected, a Housing staff member will contact all roommates in the unit and set up a time to meet prior to the event.
• All spaces (bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms, kitchen, etc) will be shown and must be clean.
• At least one roommate must be present in the unit during the event. All roommates do not have to be present at the event, but must agree to their space being shown.
• Your unit's front door must remain open the entirety of the event (listed above).

We expect approximately 200-400 prospects to visit Housing for this event.

All roommates of the selected units will receive a special t-shirt and a room necessities package valued at $40.

Please sign up by Wednesday, October 4. Submission of the form does not guarantee that your unit will be selected to be used as a showroom.

Housing Office Closures

The Housing Office observes campus closures and will be closed the following dates:

The Housing Office is also closed on Sundays.

If you call after-hours or on a holiday, a Resident Assistant will assist you or take a message and your call will be returned the following business day. At least one staff member is onsite at all times to provide assistance with emergency and non-emergency situations.

Did you know that when you purchase a $10 to-go box from Main Dining, you’re supposed to bring it back and reuse it?

To view how many swipes or flex funds you have left on your card, visit www.warriorcard.com.

You will notice multiple categories of funds, including:

Flex - can be used like a debit card at Starbucks, Red Wave, The Market, Warrior Grill, and (if out of swipes) Main Dining. $100 of your Flex can be used at the Canteen.

Meals (AKA Meal Swipes) - can be used at Main Dining or for Meal Exchange Limited Menu items at Warrior Grill or Starbucks.

Canteen Cash - can be used at the Canteen in the Cafe or Library. $100 of your Flex funds are automatically eligible to be used at the Canteen.

Meal Exchange - can be used at Warrior Grill or Starbucks' Meal Exchange Limited Menus. Will deduct from your total swipe count, if used.

Guest Meals - free, bonus guest meals to invite friends or family to join you at Main Dining! Can be used for yourself if you run out of swipes.

My Swipe or Flex balance seems lower than what I've used.

Your Meal Plan is made up of a few categories and sub-categories of funds.

Your swipe count may appear fewer than the designated amount (e.g. less than 125 or 140) due to the Meal Exchange program.

• A designated amount of Meal Exchanges have been transferred from your swipe count balance so that you have the option of using them at either Warrior Grill or Starbucks.
• If you run out of swipes during the semester but still have Meal Exchanges on your account you can swipe at Main Dining, Warrior Grill, or Starbucks.

Your flex dollar amount may appear less than your initial balance (e.g. you have the Suite Plan and it shows $600 instead of $700) due to $100 of your flex funds being converted into Canteen Cash automatically.

• This allows you to use the Canteen in the Village Cafe or Library without having to use a credit or debit card.
• If you don't want to use the Canteen, you can still use this $100 as flex funds at Starbucks, Red Wave, Warrior Grill, The Market, or Main Dining.

Where Can I Use My Meal Plan?

Meal plans swipes and flex can be used at any open dining venue on campus, including Main Dining, Starbucks, Red Wave, Warrior Grill, The Market, and Canteens!

Main Dining takes swipes or flex, if you run out of swipes. Bring a friend and use a Guest Swipe to pay for their meal!

Starbucks and Warrior Grill takes flex and have Meal Exchange limited menus.

Red Wave, The Market, and both Canteen locations take Flex. Up to $100 of flex can be used purchase items from the Canteen.

Student Health & Wellness Services

The Student Health Center is open and offers in-person and telehealth appointments.

For after hours care, you can call the Nurse Advise Line at 1-800-258-1625.

Students can obtain one free, rapid COVID test per week from multiple locations across campus, including the Student Health Center, Housing Office, and Student Center Service Desk. Please bring your Warrior ID to pick up your test.

If you are experiencing any upper respiratory or COVID  symptoms, please call (209) 667-3936 prior to coming to the SHC. We will make arrangements to meet you at the back door to give you the COVID tests.

CAPS Services & Meditation Group

Each Friday from 8AM – 11AM, a counselor from Counseling and Psychological Services on campus is available for resident drop-in hours.

No RSVP required! Stop by and visit Ruthie in the back of the Housing Office, down the hallway near the Front Desk.

Ruthie would like to begin a Morning Mindfulness meditation group with a small group of Housing residents, right here in Housing! Event time and date will be up to the group. Mindfulness meditation is a proven way to live with less fear, anxiety, or anger and bring in more love, joy, and peace of mind in your life.

If you are interested in joining the Meditation exercises, find Ruthie in the Housing Office every Friday morning before 11AM!

The Student Health Center is a fully accredited outpatient clinic that provides primary medical care, health education, wellness promotion, and disease prevention.

Our facility is housed in the Health Center Building and is equipped with nine up-to-date examination rooms, a pharmacy, a clinical laboratory, a minor surgery room, and an infirmary (short stay) room.

The Student Health Center is funded solely by Stanislaus State students through a mandatory student health fee.

Student Health Advisory Committee – Now Accepting Applications!

Stan State's Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) is now accepting applications for volunteers!

SHAC volunteers serve as advisors to the Student Health Center administration in matters relating to scope of service, delivery, funding, and other critical issues regarding campus health services. SHAC is seeking members from various areas on campus that are interested in playing an important role in the health and well-being of our student population.

Think you have been exposed to COVID? Here’s what you should do:

If you are symptomatic, take a COVID test! We have free tests available at the Housing Office – just make sure to wear a mask when you stop by.

If you do not have any symptoms, it is recommended to wait 5 days after exposure to take a COVID test. If you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, be sure to wear a mask until you have the chance to test yourself. Testing fewer than 5 days after exposure could result in a false negative test.

Please talk with your roommates if you test positive or think you’ve been exposed, and make sure you are all wearing facemasks in common areas, washing hands regularly, and disinfecting common areas frequently. It’s also a great practice going into flu season!

If you have any questions about these guidelines, please contact the Housing Office to be directed to a professional staff member.
