Village Updates & Reminders

warrior life welcome to housing

What is Warrior Life?

Warrior Life is a new platform for students that is home to many campus departments and resources, ways to get involved, virtual events like NSO, and the Housing community group. It is replacing a former platform called Warrior Connect.

Think of it as a mix of Facebook, LinkedIn, and the Stan State website: you can build your student profile, make connections with other students and staff, post in forums, AND you can also view and RSVP for events across campus, learn about campus organizations and groups, and much more!

To login to Warrior Life, visit warriorlife.csustan.edu/login_only. Your login information will be your Stan State credentials. Take a look around!

We will be posting more information about this new platform as well as how-to videos in each Verve and on our social media channels.

New Machines Are Coming!

New laundry machines are scheduled to be installed Thursday, September 16 in Village 3 and Friday, September 17 in the Community Center.

  • The Village 3 laundry rooms will be closed starting at Noon on Wednesday, September 15 and will re-open Thursday evening.
  • The Community Center laundry room will be closed starting at Noon on Thursday, September 16 and will re-open Friday evening.
We will communicate to residents as soon as the Laundry Alert notification system is back up and running. Laundry Alert allows residents to see how many machines are available or how much time is left on a machine.

Laundry Reminder

Please make sure that when you're washing or drying your clothes, you set a timer reminder so that you can promptly pick up your items when the cycle has ended. If a cycle has ended and there are items that have been sitting for a long time, contact the Housing Office. Do not remove belongings that are not yours.

Package Notifications

Residents will receive an email alert once their package has arrived at the Housing Office and is ready to be picked up.

Please note that all packages are first delivered to the Shipping & Receiving department on campus before being transported to the Housing Office. We will let you know once your package is here and ready to be picked up.

In a time crunch for an Amazon package? Rite Aid across the street from campus has an Amazon locker location!

Village III Maintenance

Over the summer, we discovered three columns in Village 3 that have interior water damages. We inserted cameras into the framing of Village 3 and have narrowed the water damages to only these particular areas.

Repair work began early September and is expected to take approximately 4 to 6 weeks.

Housekeeping

Do not flush wipes (even the flushable kind), feminine products, etc down the toilet. It's also a good idea to clean any hair out of your shower or sink after every use to help prevent build-up that could lead to a clog!

Let's Talk Trash

There are three dumpsters and one recycling location for residents to dispose of their trash and recycling.

  • Behind the Village Cafe (dumpster)
  • By resident mailboxes/housing office (dumpster)
  • Near Village 3 parking lot (dumpster)
  • Village 2 green recycling cage (recycling)

Use these dumpsters and the recycling chute to dispose of your unit's trash and recycling - do not use the trash bins inside the community.

Health & Wellness

physical activity healthy eating quality sleep = physical health

Be Healthy, Stay Healthy

Hey Warriors! HEP here with another message on how to maintain and/or improve your overall health. We’re focusing on the benefits of proper nutrition and physical activity.

Eating a balanced diet and being physically active are two of the most important things you can to be (and stay) healthy. Some of the benefits include:

  • Improving your mental health and mood
  • Reducing the risk of some chronic diseases and cancers
  • Preventing weight gain and increasing weight loss
  • Improving bone and muscle structure and function

Eating a balanced diet includes eating the right amount of food to maintain a healthy weight. Choose MyPlate and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans provide recommendations on what and how much to eat to nourish your body.

Physical activity is defined as any movement that uses energy. People of all shapes, sizes and abilities benefit from being physically active. Some activity is better than none, and the more you do the more benefits you gain. The Physical Activity Guidelines provide guidance on the types and amounts of physical activity that are recommended.
