Resident Wellness Spaces

Do you need a quiet place to study or a private place to have an appointment with Psychological Counseling Services.

Visit the Front Desk to check out a key for our Resident Wellness Space - a private room that allows you meet or study in a space outside of your apartment. Residents can use this space for up to two hours on a first-come, first-serve basis, Monday through Saturday when the Housing Office is open.

Disposing of Pumpkins

Now that the Halloween holiday has passed, please remember to dispose of your Jack-o-Lanterns to prevent them from rotting in the hallway. Pumpkins can be tossed in any of the dumpsters just outside of the Village. 

Monthly COVID-19 Testing

Residents are required to test monthly as part of health and safety screenings for our community. Housing has created a testing schedule based on each residential unit; find out which days are recommend for you to test, as well as how to upload your test results, on the Current Residents page. 

For those who are planning to travel and/or be around groups of people over fall break, please note that we recommend testing right before you return or as soon as you return to campus. More details will be emailed to all residents soon.

Drive-thru Testing

Drive-thru testing is available to everyone. Bring a photo ID and insurance card (if applicable).

Walk-up Testing

Walk-up testing is available for faculty, staff & students. Campus community members must present a Stan State ID (or bring your ID number) to access the walk-up site.

  • Parking Lot 11 (near Naraghi)
• Tuesday & Thursday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Pergola outside Village 2 Gate

First-Gen Week

Did you know we are celebrating 1st Generation Students this week? We are! With several events scheduled, be sure to register soon. Check out the full events line up on the University Events calendar page. All students are welcome to attend.

Preparing for Spring 2022

• Registration has two passes. Your first pass will take place Nov. 8-15. At that time you can enroll up to 12 units and no waitlisting is available. Your second pass will take place Nov. 16-19. You can enroll up to 18 units and waitlisting is available 
• Check your MyStanState Portal to make sure you don't have any holds or any items in your To-Do List, which could prevent you from registering. 
• If you wish to enroll in more than 18 units make sure to complete the Registration Options Form

Be sure to meet with an advisor before registration to ensure your progress towards graduation. You can also book an advising appointment to select classes for your next semester. Advising can also help you build a balanced schedule

Celebrating First-Gen Students

Navigating careers as a 1st Generation Professional can be difficult. You are not alone! Celebrate First-Generation Students with us and don't miss our virtual On-Campus Jobs Career Fair on Friday, November 5 from 10am – noon. Several departments are hiring now for Student Assistant, Work Study, and Academic Student Roles. Connect with us prior to the fair to get help with your resume and practice your one-minute commercial. We are here to support you!

Service Incentive Program

The California Dream Act Service Incentive Grant Program (DSIG) encourages California Dream Act Application (CADAA) students with a Cal Grant B award to perform community or volunteer service. 

The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) will award up to $3,000 per academic year (up to $1,500 per semester or up to $1,000 per quarter) to 2,500 eligible students. The grant will be available to the student for up to 8 semesters or up to 12 quarters while they have an active Cal Grant B award. Students must also meet Satisfactory Academic Progress and complete any necessary verification for their Cal Grant B award.

How to Sleep Better

Hey Warriors! HEP here with another message on how to improve your overall health. This edition we’re focusing on sleep –  with tricks and tips to improve your sleep.

Today is the first day of the Sleep Challenge! If you haven’t signed up yet, there is still time. Simply email Lea Anne at lmadrigal8@csustan.edu if you would like to participate. There will be prizes awarded.

Sleep has so many health benefits. Try some of the following tips for better sleep:

• Be consistent. Go to bed at the same time each night and get up at the same time each morning, including on the weekends.
• Make sure your bedroom environment is quiet, dark, relaxing, and at a comfortable temperature.
• Remove electronic devices, such as TVs, computers, and smart phones, from the bedroom.
• Avoid large meals, caffeine, and alcohol before bedtime.
• Get some exercise. Being physically active during the day can help you fall asleep easier at night.
• Try a relaxing bedtime ritual to wind down for the evening: take a warm bath, follow relaxation exercises, listen to soft music, and follow a deep breathing exercise.
• Try a weighted blanket to promote relaxation and reduce anxiety and stress.
