I wanted to take a moment during a busy semester to check in and see how you all are doing. Are things going well? I hope they are. If not, please reach out and let us know. We're happy to help as we can. If, for some reason, you've still not submitted your accommodation letters for Fall, I recommend that you please do so. You can find information on how to do that through our DRS Student Portal at https://www.csustan.edu/disability-resource-services/information-students/drs-student-portal
I would like to share a couple of opportunities with you. First, we need a student to be on our DRS Advisory Committee. The time commitment would be 2 meetings a year. If you're interested and would like more information, please contact me at mewilliams@csustan.edu.
The second opportunity is to be part of research Dr. Meggan Jordan in Sociology is conducting. She sent me the following to share with you:
Hi there!
I’m a professor of sociology at Stan State, and I am conducting a research study on the sense of community among students with disabilities at Stanislaus State. This study will help us learn what students with disabilities think about our university campus. Findings could enhance services, supports, and extracurriculars for students with disabilities.
If you would like to participate, this study involves both a survey and an interview. You can complete either one of your choice, or both.
The survey is anonymous and will take about 10 minutes. The survey will ask you to rate how you feel as a member of the university community. You will be entered to win a raffle for a $50 gift card to Amazon if you complete the survey and meet the study criteria.
You can also volunteer for an interview. The interview should take about 1 hour and can be completed in person or on Zoom. My research assistant or myself will conduct the interview. If you complete the interview, you will receive a $15 gift card.
Eligibility:
- Identify as having a disability
- Registered student at Stanislaus State
- At least 18 years age or older
Okay, folks, that is it for this email. Hang in there. We're almost at the end of the semester.
And as always, GO WARRIORS!
