Greetings, Warriors!
Welcome back to campus! It’s been wonderful to see you again in the office and around campus. This fall, we have the most in-person classes since we first went remote at the beginning of the pandemic.
DRS will continue offering both remote and in-person services this semester. Our new location is Library 150, and our hours of operation are 8 AM to 5 PM. As is our standard practice, DRS does not offer walk-in appointments to see advisors. We will only be seeing students by scheduled appointments, and those appointments can be via Zoom, telephone, or in person.
Accommodation Letter Requests
If you haven’t submitted your accommodation letter request for Fall Semester, please do so. You can use the online form. Remember, you must submit a request every semester you would like to receive accommodations. Please contact the office or your Disability Advisor if you have any questions.
Testing Accommodations
Some of you with testing accommodations may have already tested with us at this point in the semester. If you haven’t but may soon, please don’t delay. Because space is limited, please make sure you complete an out-of-class test request as soon as possible. Testing space is first-come, first-serve. You can use our Online Test Request form to go paperless. Don’t forget DRS uses testing blocks, so our exam start times are 8:15 AM, 10:45 AM, 1:15 PM, or 3:30 PM during the regular semester. If you are having difficulty finding the start time that works best for you, please contact us.
Alt Media Requests
If you need to submit your alt-media requests, please do so. You can use our Online Form or download and print a copy of the PDF Form or the Microsoft Word Form. You may have to wait for your materials, so please submit your request now. If you have questions about materials, contact the Alt Media Coordinator, Erin Foster (efoster2@csustan.edu)
Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) Opportunities!
The WRP is a recruitment and referral program that connects federal and select private-sector employers nationwide with college students and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to demonstrate their abilities in the workplace through internships or permanent jobs.
Current degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate students with disabilities and recent graduates with disabilities who received a postsecondary degree on or after April 1, 2020, from a U.S.-accredited college or university are eligible to apply. Candidates must be U.S. citizens who are eligible for the federal Schedule A Hiring Authority.
Students and recent grads with disabilities can register and apply today at WRP.gov!
Registration closes October 13, 2022.
There is a two-step process to register before starting the application, so we encourage eligible candidates to click Students Register Now as soon as possible. Check out our WRP success stories to learn how WRP can help jump-start your career. For questions, please email wrp@dol.gov.
Disability Employment Awareness Month Event!
Join us in October to celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month! October 12th 12pm – 2pm. If you would like to work in this critical field, you are welcome to join to learn how to be an advocate and ally. All Stan State students are welcome to join in person or via Zoom. Lunch will be provided, and space is limited so register early to reserve your spot. This event will be offered at the Turlock and Stockton campuses.
